Overmill Cottage is a detached, quality furnished, stone cottage tucked away in a quiet location in the centre of Bampton, Devon.  The one bedroom holiday cottage stands in an elevated position with magnificent views across the valley and water meadows of the River Batherm near the Devon / Somerset border.  The cottage has recently opened for holiday rentals after thorough refurbishment and provides well-appointed self-catering accommodation near Exmoor. 

Bampton has a long and interesting history; the village lies in peaceful rolling Devon countryside equidistant from Devon’s north and south coasts (each less than one hour’s drive from Bampton).  The rugged and beautiful Exmoor National Park is nearby, with the dramatic coastline and beaches of North Devon & Somerset all easily accessible.  There are a number of National Trust properties in the area.  It is a great area for water sports: fly, coarse and sea fishing, sailing and canoeing (the River Exe and Wimbleball Lake are just a short drive away), and for a range of outdoor pursuits in the beautiful countryside of Devon: walking, cycling, shooting etc.  Overmill Cottage offers the perfect self-catering base for an active holiday in Devon or for those just wishing to soak up nature and recharge the batteries.

And let’s not forget the famous annual Bampton Fair on the last Thursday in October (and of course the music & entertainment ‘After the Fair’ over the following weekend).  Overmill Cottage gives you flexible self-catering accommodation for the Bampton Fair, with easy access to all the pubs and a peaceful night’s sleep after the partying!

The cottage opened for holiday rentals in May 2009 after thorough refurbishment and is well appointed throughout.
